Fish oil

Why should we use it?

Because cold-water fish is laden with dangerous pollutants. While high-quality fish oil supplements are free of contaminants. It’s not possible to synthesize fish oil yet, it has to be first fished and then processed to be purified.

The major health benefits available from consumption of fish oil are cardiovascular protection and brain health.

There is of course a wide range of quality and potency among the supplements on today’s market. Plenty to chose from, but concerns about contamination are limiting the use of fish oil. In reality there’s nothing to worry about because modern fishery and processing techniques (along with sourcing fish from certified sustainable fisheries) have made available extremely potent fish oils standardized to specific ratios of EPA and DHA ( which are basically omega-3s).

These techniques also minimize the risk of exposures to toxic chemicals and maximize freshness of the oils. This means that higher doses can be taken with confidence.

With reference to the above, this is my personal hint: I strongly, strongly recommend to use ONLY molecularly distilled ones (not all of them are: it has to be clearly indicated on the label).

And of course ONLY if sold in single softgels, not in the liquid form. Ever.

….Always humble,

Angiolino
